 PRIVACY POLICY FOR GREATER MIAMI COMMUNITY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION
The protection of our members’ privacy and the safekeeping of confidential information are of utmost concern to the Credit Union. It is the Credit Union’s intent to comply with all applicable laws and regulations concerning the treatment of both member and non-member information, and educate our members as to their privacy rights under the law. This policy outlines the purposes for which member information will be collected and released outside of the Credit Union.
INFORMATION COLLECTED
We collect nonpublic personal information about members from the following sources:
- Information we receive from members on applications or other forms, such as: name, address, social security number, assets and income.
- Information about member transactions with our affiliates, others, or us such as: account balance, payment history, and parties to transactions.
- Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency, such as: creditworthiness and credit history.
CATEGORIES OF INFORMATION THAT WE DISCLOSE
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our members of former members to anyone, except as required by law.
DISCLOSURE AS PERMITTED BY LAW
We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above to service providers and companies that perform marketing services on our behalf (for example—check printing companies).
CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to the member. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard member’s nonpublic personal information.
AVAILABLITY OF POLICY
The Credit Union is proud of its commitment to member confidentiality, and will make this policy available to any consumer requesting it. The Credit Union will also post the policy on its Internet home page. |
